Remission Order in Respect of Goods Under the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988
P.C. 1997-1993  1997-12-29His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 101 of the Customs TariffFootnote a, hereby makes the annexed Remission Order in Respect of Goods Under the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988.

1 (1) Subject to section 3, remission is hereby granted of the customs duties paid or payable under Schedule I to the Customs Tariff on the goods described in the codes set out in the schedule to the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988 that are listed in Part 1 of the schedule to this Order, as those descriptions read during the period referred to in section 3.
(2) The amount remitted is the difference between the amount of customs duties paid or payable under Schedule I to the Customs Tariff and the amount of the applicable customs duties set out in column IV of the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988.

2 (1) Subject to section 4, remission is hereby granted of the customs duties paid or payable under Schedule I to the Customs Tariff on the goods described in the codes set out in the schedule to the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988 that are listed in column 1 of Part 2 of the schedule to this Order, as those descriptions read during the period referred to in section 4.
(2) The amount remitted is the difference between the amount of customs duties paid or payable under Schedule I to the Customs Tariff and the amount of the applicable customs duties set out in column IV of the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988.

Conditions

3 Remission is granted under section 1 on condition that the goods were imported during the period beginning on July 1, 1991 and ending on the day on which this Order comes into force.

4 Remission is granted under section 2 on condition that the goods were imported during the period beginning on July 1, 1991 and ending on the corresponding date set out in column 2 of Part 2 of the schedule to this Order.
