Swine Vesicular Disease (Jersey) Order 1974
THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE, in pursuance of Articles 1, 3, 6, 8, 10 and 42 of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956,[1] orders as follows –

1 Extension of definition of “disease”
For all the purposes of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956[2] (in this Order referred to as the “Law”), the definition of “disease” in Article 1(3) of the Law is extended so as to include swine vesicular disease.
2 Power to slaughter
Article 8 of the Law shall apply to swine vesicular disease.
3 Application of existing enactments to swine vesicular disease
The Foot-and-Mouth Disease (Jersey) Order 1958[3] shall apply to swine vesicular disease as it applies to foot-and-mouth disease, and as if references therein to foot-and-mouth disease were references to swine vesicular disease, and any forms, notices or other documents for use under that Order as applied by this Order shall be subject to the necessary modifications and adaptations.
4 Citation
This Order may be cited as the Swine Vesicular Disease (Jersey) Order 1974.
