Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) (Jersey) Act 1973

THE STATES, in pursuance of Article 3 of the Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) (Jersey) Law 1960,[1] have made the following Act –

1      Reciprocating countries

Part 2 of the Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) (Jersey) Law 1960[2] (hereafter called the “principal Law”) shall extend to the countries (hereinafter referred to as the “reciprocating countries”) set out in the first column of the Schedule.

2      Relevant courts

The courts set out in the second column of the Schedule shall, for the purposes of Part 2 of the principal Law, be deemed superior courts of the reciprocating countries set out respectively opposite thereto in the first column of that Schedule.

3      Citation

This Act may be cited as the Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) (Jersey) Act 1973.

Superior Courts



England and Wales



The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, the House of Lords, the Court of Appeal and the High Court of Justice.



Scotland



The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, the Court of Session and the Sheriff Court.



Northern Ireland



The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland.



Isle of Man



Her Majesty’s High Court of Justice of the Isle of Man (including the Staff of Government Division).



Guernsey



The Royal Court of Guernsey and the Court of Appeal of Guernsey.
