The Minister for the Civil Service, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(5) and (8)(a) of the Superannuation Act 1972(1) and now vested in him(2), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Admission to Schedule 1 of the Superannuation Act 1972) (No. 2) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 23rd April 1996.

2.  Employment by the National Forest Company is hereby added to the employments listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation Act 1972 with effect from 1st April 1995.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order adds employment by the National Forest Company to the employments listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation Act 1972 so that section 1 of that Act (under which the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme, the Civil Service Additional Voluntary Contribution Scheme and the Civil Service Compensation Scheme have been made) may apply to it.
Provision for the employment of staff of the National Forest Company was made pursuant to the Articles of Association of the National Forest Company, a company limited by guarantee and incorporated on 18th November 1994.
Under the power conferred by section 1(8)(a) of the Superannuation Act 1972 the Order takes effect from 1st April 1995.
