Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Order which established the Bexley Community Health National Health Service Trust (now called the Oxleas National Health Service Trust) to alter the purpose for which the trust was established, and to amend is functions. (The trust has, in exercise of its existing functions, assumed responsibility for the management of community health services from Bexley Hospital, which were previously managed by the former Bexley Health Authority, and for the ownership of the associated premises.)
This Order confers on the trust the purpose specified in section 5(1)(b) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990, to provide and manage hospitals or other establishments or facilities. It also alters the trust’s functions to enable it to provide community health services from premises not previously provided or managed by a health authority, and so that the trust is no longer required to own the premises from which it is to provide such services.
