The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 4(2) and (3) and 23(2) of the Education Act 1994(1), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Education (Funding for Teacher Training) Designation Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st August 1995.

2.  The City Technology Colleges Trust Limited, a company limited by guarantee, is hereby designated as an institution eligible for funding under Part I of the Education Act 1994.

3.  References in Part I of the Education Act 1994 to the governing body of an institution shall, in relation to the City Technology Colleges Trust Limited, be read as references to that company.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order designates the City Technology Colleges Trust Limited as an institution eligible for funding under Part I of the Education Act 1994. The City Technology Colleges Trust Limited (“the Trust”) is a company limited by guarantee, not having a share capital, incorporated on 21st April 1987 under the Number 2124695.
As a result of this Order, the Teacher Training Agency may make grants, loans or other payments in respect of expenditure incurred or to be incurred by the Trust for the purposes of the provision of teacher training and the provision of facilities, and the carrying on of other activities, which the Trust consider it necessary or desirable to provide or carry on for the purpose of or in connection with the provision of teacher training.
