The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 34(2) and (5), 190 and 191(1) of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government (Promotion of Economic Development) (Amendment) Regulations 1995, and shall come into force on April 1995.
Revocation of restrictions on exercise of economic development powers
2. The Regulations specified in the first column of the Schedule to these Regulations are revoked to the extent specified in the third column.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
Regulation 7 of the Local Government (Promotion of Economic Development) Regulations 1990 imposes certain restrictions on principal councils (other than those specified in Schedule 1 to those Regulations, most county councils, and all such councils in Wales) in the exercise of their economic development powers. These Regulations remove those restrictions.
