Parking Places on Roads (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996

WHEREAS it appears to the Department of the Environment to be necessary to provide suitable parking places for vehicles on the parts of the roads specified in Schedule 1;
NOW THEREFORE the Department, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 104(1)(c) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Parking Places on Roads (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 26th July 1996.
Amendment
2. The Parking Places on Roads Order (Northern Ireland) 1993(2) shall be amended by—
(a)the addition to Schedule 1 to that Order of the items in Schedule 1;
(b)the deletion from Schedule 1 to that Order of the items in Schedule 2.

SCHEDULE 1
427. Culdee Street, Armagh, (North Side of cul-de-sac, to the rear of No. 1 Upper Irish Street) — from a point approximately 81 metres from its junction with Upper Irish Street, for a distance of approximately 4.5 metres.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order further amends the Parking Places on Roads Order (Northern Ireland) 1993 (“the 1993 Order”).
The amendments provide for—
(a)the introduction of parking places on the parts of the roads specified in item numbers 427, 428 and 430 to 457 of Schedule 1;
(b)the deletion from Schedule 1 to the 1993 Order of the parking places specified in item numbers 216 and 359; and
(c)the reduction in length of the parking place on Grampian Avenue, Belfast, by the deletion of item number 274 from Schedule 1 to the 1993 Order and its redescription in item number 429 in Schedule 1 to this Order.
