Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations revoke the Stands for Carry-cots (Safety) Regulations 1966 and the Stands for Carry-Cots (Safety) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1967 which contain labelling, design and construction requirements for carry-cot stands.
Carry-cot stands are “products” within the scope of the General Product Safety Regulations 1994 (S.I. 1994/2328) which, in general terms, require products to be safe.
A compliance cost assessment is available, copies of which have been placed in the libraries of both Houses of Parliament. Copies are also available from the Consumer Affairs and Competition Policy Directorate of the Department of Trade and Industry, Room 4.H.3, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET.
