DECISION No.784-TTgA of September 22, 1997 on the drawing up of a master plan for the preservation, renovation and development of the "Viet Bac Resistance Base".

The "Viet Bac Resistance Base" is a group of Vietnam's historical relics of paramount importance in the 20th century, a "resistance war capital" with such relics as :Pac Bo (Cao Bang), Tan Trao (Tuyen Quang), the safety zones of Dinh Hoa, Cho Don, Chiem Hoa, Son Duong and Yen Son (Thai Nguyen, Bac Can, Tuyen Quang).

The Prime Minister assigns the Ministry of Culture and Information to assume the main responsibility, in coordination with the relevant ministries, branches, organizations and localities, to draw up a master plan for the preservation, renovation and development of the "Viet Bac Resistance Base" and submit it to the Prime Minister by mid-1998. To temporarily suspend the implementation of the projects on the restoration, renovation and development of other historical and revolutionary relics in the "Viet Bac Resistance Base" till the Prime Minister officially approves the master plan therefor.- (Summary)
