SANITY VEGETAL Law 25.794 Amend Act No. 25.614 on the Promotion of the Eradication of Carpocapsa, establishing that the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food will implement a similar program for the eradication of Grafolita. Sanctioned: October 15, 2003. Enacted: November 6, 2003.

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation assembled in Congress, etc. sanction with force of Law:

ARTICLE 1 Amend article 1 of Act No. 25,614 to read as follows:

Article 1: The eradication of the pest that affects the fruit cultivation called Carpocapsa and the pest called Grafolita, which mainly affects the fruit of carozo, will be declared of national interest.

ARTICLE 2 Amend article 3 (a) of Law 25,614, which shall read as follows:

Subparagraph (a): Establish appropriate mechanisms to eradicate the pests mentioned in article 1 of this Act.

ARTICLE 3 Amend article 4 of Act No. 25,614 to read as follows:

Article 4: Under the National Carpocapsa Eradication Programme, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food will delegate specific activities within its jurisdiction to the respective provincial ministries. Similarly, it will implement a similar program for the eradication of Grafolita.

ARTICLE 4 Amend article 5 of Law 25,614, which shall read as follows:

Article 5: Products for the eradication of Carpocapsa and Grafolita, composed of pheromones used in the process called the technique of sexual confusion of insects, shall enjoy the following benefits:

1. Exemption of import duties, statistics and other taxes that tax the import, including the added value tax.

2. Exemption of value added tax throughout the marketing process.
