ALBERT II, King of the Belgians,
To all, present and to come, Hi.
The Chambers adopted and We sanction the following:
Article 1er. This Act regulates a matter referred to in Article 78 of the Constitution.
Art. 2. In section 12 of the Law of 5 May 1997 on the Coordination of Federal Sustainable Development Policy, replaced by the Act of 30 July 2010, the following amendments are made:
1° in § 1era dash written as follows is inserted between the fourth and fifth dash:
" - six representatives of the scientific community who are nominated to the King for a renewable term of five years after a call for applications and a selection of them; »;
2° in the Dutch text of § 1erthe sixth dash, whose current text will form the seventh dash, the words "elk Gewest en elke Gemeenschap" are replaced by the words "elke Gewest- en Gemeenschapsregering";
3° in § 2 the words "four years" are replaced by the words "five years";
4° in § 4 the words "fifth and sixth" are replaced by the words "fifth, sixth and seventh";
5° the article is supplemented by §§ 6 and 7, written as follows:
“§ 6. The call for applications and the selection of applications referred to in § 1er, fifth dash, are organized by and under the authority of the Board's office, referred to in § 5, at the earliest six months before the expiry of the mandate of the six scientific representatives to the Council. The call for applications is issued to the Belgian Monitor. The selection results from a nomination proposal for candidates. This classification proposal is communicated to the Minister. The Minister sets the classification, communicates it to the Board's office and presents the first six winners to the King's appointment.
§ 7. If the term of a member referred to in § 1er, fourth dash, becomes vacant before the expiry of this term, the alternate, referred to in § 3, becomes a member for the remainder of that term. This succession is published in the Belgian Monitor. In turn, the new member designates an alternate.
If the term of a member referred to in § 1er, fifth dash, becomes vacant before the expiry of this term, the Commission cooperates with the candidate available following the classification as a member for the remainder of that term. This cooperation is published in the Belgian Monitor. »
Promulgate this Act, order that it be put on the seal of the State and published in the Belgian Monitor.
