LAW NO. 20,970 GRANTS EXTRAORDINARY READJUSTMENT TO THE BASIC SOLIDARITY PENSION Having regard to the fact that the National Congress has given its approval to the following Bill: " Article 1.-Concedese, to count from 1 January 2017, a readjustment 10% to the amount of the basic old age solidarity pension in force at that date. The readjustment provided for in Article 8 of Law No 20.255, which establishes Pension reform, shall continue to apply in accordance with the provisions of that rule. However, for the year 2017 the following special rules must be followed: (a) For the purposes of calculating the change in the Consumer Price Index, it shall be considered as the last readjustment granted in 2016, pursuant to Article 8 above. (b) Obtained the corresponding adjustment rate, the adjustment rate shall be applied to the amount resulting from the application of the adjustment referred to in the first subparagraph. Article 2.-Add in Article 11 of Law No 20.255 the following final indent: " The calculation rules referred to in Article 10 and the preceding points shall be established at the time of access to the benefit and shall not be changed to a change in the amount of the basic pension or the basic solidarity pension of old age, without prejudice to the changes in the amount resulting from the pre-retirement solidarity contribution of old age according to the corresponding rule of calculation. ' TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS Article 1.-For the purposes of applying the provisions of Article 2 of this Law, those who are beneficiaries of a pre-retirement solidarity contribution from old age to 31 December 2016 shall be subject to the rule of calculation to be applied to that date. Article 2.-The largest fiscal expenditure that represents the implementation of this law during the year 2017 will be financed from the Public Treasury Budget Item of the Public Sector Budget Law of that year.
