LAW NO. 20,681 ESTABLISHES THE OBLIGATION OF FREE-RECEPTION TELEVISION CHANNELS TO BROADCAST ELECTION PROPAGANDA FOR PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTIONS IN THE TERMS INDICATED Having regard to the fact that the National Congress has given its approval of the following bill, Bill: " Single article.-It incorporates into law Nº 20,640, which establishes the System of Primary Elections for the nomination of candidates for President of the Republic, Parliamentarians and Mayors, the following Title IV, new, passing the current Title V: " Title IV of the transfer of Article 42a-In the primary elections for the nomination of candidates for the office of President of the Republic, free reception television channels must be allocated free of charge 15 daily minutes of their broadcasts to electoral propaganda, which shall be distributed in equal parts between the parties or covenants participating. In case of disagreement, the proposal of the channels must be approved by the National Television Council. The transmission of the electoral propaganda referred to in the preceding paragraph may only be carried out from the tenth eighth to the third day before the primary election. " Transitional Article.-For the primary elections corresponding to the year 2013, the electoral propaganda indicated in the previous article shall only take place from the eighth to the third day before that of the primary election.
