LAW NO. 20,295 AMENDS LAW NO. 18,556, CONSTITUTIONAL ORGANIC ON POPULAR VOTES AND VOTES, TO ALLOW THE VOTE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE TOWN OF CHAITEN IN THE MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS 2008. " Article 2.-Add to the Law No. 18,700, Constitutional Organic on Popular Voting and Scrutiny, the following transitional provisions: " Article 19.-The vote and the scrutiny corresponding to the constituents of the Constituency Election of Chaiten, in the municipal elections of October 26, 2008, will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the following articles. Article 20.-The Director of the Electoral Service and the Electoral Board of the Province of Palena will have to install ballot-receiving tables corresponding to all the books of Electoral Records of the Electoral Constituency Chaiten, to operate, in parallel, in the localities of Puerto Montt, province of Llanquihue; Castro, province of Chiloé; and Ayacara and Villa Santa Lucia, province of Palena. The electors of the Chaiten Electoral Constituency will therefore be able to vote in any of the above mentioned localities, which is closer to their temporary post-disaster residence. The voting tables referred to in the preceding paragraph shall use the copy of the Local Electoral Register or one of its duplicates issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 12 of Law No. 18,556, as provided for in this Article.
