LAW NO. 19,973 ESTABLISHES HOLIDAYS Having regard to the fact that the National Congress has given its approval to the following Bill: " Article 1.-State holiday on 17 September 2004. Article 2.-The days 1 May, 18 and 19 of |! |September, 25 December and 1 January each year, |! |will be compulsory and unrenountable holidays for all |! |trade dependents, except for |! |those who perform in clubs, restaurants, |! |entertainment establishments, such as, cinemas, |! |live shows, discos, pub, cabarets, casinos |! |play and other legally authorized gambling venues. |! | Nor will it be applicable to the dependent of expendium |! |of fuels, pharmacies of urgency and of the |! |pharmacies that must fulfill shifts fixed by the |! |sanitary authority. Violations of the provisions of this article |! |will be sanctioned with fine for tax benefit of 5 |! |monthly tax units for each worker |! |affected by the infraction. If the employer has |! |hired 50 or more workers the applicable fine |! |will amount to 10 monthly tax units for each |! |worker affected by the infringement. And when you have |! |hired 200 or more workers the fine will be 20 |! |monthly tax units for each worker |! |affected by the infraction. Article 3.-Incorporate in Article 38, number 7 of the Labour Code, following the expression "respective establishment", the following sentence, passing the separate point (.) to be followed: " However, this exception shall not apply workers from centres or commercial complexes administered under the same social or legal personality as regards the statutory holiday laid down in Article 169 of Law No 18,700.
