Short Title
Regulations on catches of freshwater pearl mussel

Adopted by the Directorate for Nature Management (now Environment Directorate) 30 December 1992 pursuant to the Act of 15 May 1992 no. 47 on salmonids and freshwater etc. § 34, cf. Regulation of 18 December 1992 no. 1177 on expansion of salmon scope of the Act.
Changes: Amended by regulation 15 October 2013 No.. 1214.

§ 1. Prohibition Without the permission of the county is all catches of freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera) prohibited.

§ 2. Permits Permits for catching freshwater pearl mussel can only be provided at sites where the population situation is very good.
Permit may only be granted by individual application.
Permit shall only apply for one year, and it shall be given for a limited number of clams.
Permission must always must be kept under catch of freshwater pearl mussel.

§ 3. Penalties Contravention of these regulations is punishable, cf. § 49 of the Act on salmonids and freshwater fish, etc.

§ 4. Entry into force These regulations enter into force from 1 January 1993.
