General BERNARDO O ' HIGGINS
AUTHORIZES THE INVESTMENT OF A SUM IN THE ERECTION OF A STATUE OF THE LIBERATOR, PRESENTED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF CHILE.
The Senate and the House of Representatives of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, meeting in General Assembly,
DECREE:
Article 1 °. Authorize the Executive Branch to invest up to the amount of $2:000,000.00 (two million pesos) to be taken from General Rentas, on the erection and placement of the statue of the General Liberator Bernardo O ' Higgins, presented to the Republic by the government of Chile.
Article 2 °. Encomiendase to the Commission Pro Monument to O ' Higgins the study of the place where, according to the Municipal Intrend of Montevideo, the monument will be located in this Capital.
Article 3 °. Commune, etc.
